7 Unpleasant Habits that Make Your Skin Age Prematurely

Many indicators of ageing skin are decided by the health and way of living selections you make each day. For any anti-aging skin treatment program to be effective, first off you want to learn figure out what you could be doing that is harming your skin and rising your skin’s process of aging.

Top 7 Habits that Accentuate Signs of Aging

  1. Smoking can be particularly damaging to your skin. Cigarette smoke, in fact , is damaging, so even if you don't smoke but spend significant amount of time with smokers your skin could still be damaged. According to a study, exposure to cig smoke seriously increases skin wrinkles and aridness. Ciggie smoke depletes your body of vitamin C, an essential ingredient for keeping skin plump and moist.

  1. Unguarded sun exposure can seriously accelerate skin ageing. Vulnerable skin exposed to UV rays becomes more mottled in appearance, freckles turn into brown spots, the skin takes on a dry, leathery appearance and wrinkles and drooping increase. Make sure you use sufficient sun lotion that protects against both UVA and UVB rays.

  1. Absence of exercise makes a contribution to ageing skin, as activity helps tone your muscles and get the blood flowing smoothly. Exercise should be a central part of any anti aging skin protection programme.

  1. Exposure to cold weather make a contribution to aging skin because cold winds and low temperatures make skin dry. Remember to utilize a great moisturizer in the cold season, and use it inside too – heated rooms can dry your skin also. In order to scale back the aging skin effect of heated rooms, you can use a humidifier to help in keeping your skin moist.

  1. Alcohol distends little blood vessels in the skin and increases blood flow near the skin’s surface. These veins can become permanently damaged in time, creating a flushed appearance and broken vessels on the skin’s surface, as well as other signs of ageing skin.

  1. Stress and worry cause frowning, and the facial muscles essentially correspond with that movement in time. So as to reduce signs of aging due to stress, attempt to alter your face expressions during the day and, more importantly, try to scale back your stress level.

  1. Lack of sleep not only makes you feel bad, it makes you look bad too. The face is the 1st one to show signs of lack of sleep, showing shady circles and bags under the eyes and sagging skin. Say studies, most adults function best with eight – 9 hours of sleep each night.

Men’s Skin Care Tips

Be true to your skin as it is our body’s largest organ and is capable of adapting very well to the rapidly changing environment. Knowing your skin type (skin you would have under ideal environmental conditions) is easily the first big step to choosing the products that meet your unique requirements. If you have sensitive skin cheaper shaving creams, fragrances, perfumed soaps, and alcohol based products will irritate the skin. Remember to always read the labels on new products (before purchasing them) to help select a product that suits your skins needs.

Avoid over exposure to the sun – Sun damage leads to hyper pigmentation (brown spots) which can develop into serious skin disease. Unfortunately if you have too much exposure this can also exaggerate and plump out fine lines. If you ensure you use an SPF 20 or even higher on any exposed skin, paying particular attention to your face when you are outside. Don’t forget about your lips! Ideally you would be looking to use a balm with a SPF of a minimum of 15. A lovely oil that not only smells nice, but keeps the lips looking moist is Peppermint oil.

Everything in moderation – Too much of anything is never a good idea. If you can try and avoid excessive smoking, alcohol, stress and fatigue. All of these factors together can certainly lead to premature aging and they also decrease your facial circulation which will make you look older than you are.

Go natural – Cleansing skin care products should be as chemical-free as possible. One of my favourites is the Elemis Deep Cleanse Facial wash, which I find satisfying. Deodorant soaps shouldn’t be used on your face. They cleanse with harsh ingredients and leave a detergent film behind. This could well act as an irritant to your skin and clog up your pores. It’s a good idea to enjoy a good scrub as this is great way to help to achieve healthy clean skin. It will remove dead cells and smooth the surface of your face. The scrub should be strong without being damaging. Stay away from any scrubs that contain any rough elements like ground bits of nut and even seed extracts. They could possibly tear and do damage to the skin. Having a good old scrub will certainly invigorate you and it certainly can’t do any harm. After this, you should consider using a moisturizer such as Gatineau Aquamemory Moisturiser, which helps to reduce the tell-tale signs of aging.
