Proper Skin Care For The Body

Many people overlook caring for their overall body skin due to their absorption of facial skin. The reality of it is that skin all over the body is just as important as skin on the face. Skin care for body skin is relatively simple.

Moisturize

Basic skin care for body skin is to keep it moisturized all the time. There are key point sin the body which needs extra moisturizing in spite being an oily skin type. Skin care for elbows, knees and heels are essential because these body parts are prone to drying and discoloring when left uncared for. Lotions and creams are best for those who have little problems with these parts of the body but skin care must be stepped up a bit for those individuals whose elbows, knees and heel show early signs of dryness.

Shea butter is one of the best ingredients one should look for when choosing skin care products for moisturizing. Another helpful ingredient that should be used for a moisturizing agent is Jojoba which is also noted to be helpful as a moisturizer for severely dry skin.

Clean

Included in overall body skin care is to keep the skin clean. The individual does not necessarily have to use extreme measure to clean one’s skin. In fact, mild soap and water are often the only things necessary for skin care. The important thing in skin care is to keep skin as dust free as possible and to avoid letting grime and other dirt stay on too long. Facial skin care may also entail not touching the face too often especially if the hands have just handled items which may be full of germs and bacteria such as money, public bathroom items and others similar things.

Sun Free

Keeping skin out of the sun’s harsh glare is also part of natural skin care. This is not to stay that the person has to live indoors and shun exposure to the sun always. Sun exposure should be limited to the more gentle times when the sun is not so harsh and directly on top of us. Sunrise to around 9 o’clock in the morning is relatively safe sun exposure but after that up to around 3 o’clock pm may be too harsh for the skin. Skin care should include the application of sun screen to prevent photo damage to the skin when one has to go out during the harshest times.
